I generally don’t like to buy specialized kitchen gadgets because they take up space, get dusty, and make me feel bad if I don’t use them. That being the case, I gave it a lot of thought before deciding to invest in a SodaStream seltzer maker.
I bought it for several reasons. First, I hate the idea of paying for what is essentially just water. At the same time I like to “treat” myself to something more special than what comes out of the tap. I also want to be a little more green in my shopping habits and buying bottle after bottle of carbonated water does not fit within that goal. With all those in mind it made sense for me to invest in a seltzer maker.
Now that I’ve been using it for a few months, I couldn’t be happier. It doesn’t need to be plugged in. It’s a little tall for most of my storage areas but it is slim enough to stay on my counter and be easily accessible. I haven’t used any of the flavorings SodaStream has to accompany their product so I can’t comment on those [By the way, I am not being paid to talk about this product, but SodaStream, if you’re out there reading…]
It may not be the tool for everyone, but for me it was a good investment.
